  1. 01 Build the network foundation Configure the NetGw or CMTS, IP pools, and the vendor-specific hardware path. Done when: the access gateway and address pools are ready
  2. 02 Define the service Create QoS, the configuration file, and the minimum product and cost-center data required by the go-live stack. Done when: a contract can receive a sellable service profile
  3. 03 Activate the device Create the customer or contract and assign the modem MAC to the correct configuration. Done when: the first modem registers online
  4. 04 Verify in the NOC Review channels, sessions, thresholds, and history in Prime Monitoring. Done when: operations can see and diagnose the device

What to prepare

Prepare the data and decisions before touching the first modem.

The canonical Provisioning Setup contains eight technical tasks. Grouping them into these six work packages makes ownership and acceptance clearer.

Access gateway

  • NetGw or CMTS management address
  • DOCSIS, FTTH, DSL, or WiFi hardware path
  • Vendor plug-in and credentials where required

  • Router, DNS, and lease parameters
  • Reachability from provisioning services

Service profile

  • QoS profile and speed policy
  • CM, MTA, or TR-069 configuration
  • A safe default configuration for the pilot

  • Product and tariff mapping
  • Full company and SEPA setup can follow for settlement

  • Modem MAC and inventory identity
  • Config-file assignment and restart

  • Expected speed profile is enforced
  • Monitoring shows usable signal and session data
